Right now, there are over 1 million older New Yorkers living in the city, and by 2030 this number is expected to increase by 50% -- the most rapid increase in history. Soon, NYC will have more older adults than school-aged children. To prepare for this transformation, The Office of the Mayor, the New York City Council, and the New York Academy of Medicine partnered to create Age-friendly NYC.
